Launch Updates Hub

Feed the Scorchpot released on August 20, 2026 for Windows on Steam, with itch.io as a second storefront. This hub is the timeline, not a patch-by-patch RSS firehose. The official launch trailer below is the public face of 1.0. Confirm live changes in the Steam news tab and the Indieformer Discord linked from the Links Hub. Child pages cover the soundtrack swap and the platform roadmap so this hub can stay a timeline.

Launch (August 20, 2026)

The 1.0 build is the twenty-year dinner contract: 50+ buildings, 80+ recipes, 20+ dice types, nine dragons, and 40 Steam achievements. Launch price sat at $14.99 USD with a discount window. A Balatro bundle existed at launch for combo addicts who already knew what a scoring engine feels like.

The game is single-player. There is no extra-player mode patch hiding in this sentence. If a future update adds one, this page will have to change; until then, do not plan a couch campaign.

Demo and Next Fest

A free demo (Steam app 4338170) shipped earlier in 2026 with the full tutorial and three seeded runs. Steam Next Fest in June 2026 put that demo in front of roguelike crowds. Median session times reported in press were long for a “cozy” pitch, which is the honest review: the loop hooks.

If you still have the demo installed, it is a tutor, not a replacement for the twenty-year release. Mechanics match. Length does not. Getting Started assumes you can jump from demo habits into the full contract.

Codex, statistics, trophies

Near launch the developer finished an in-game Codex so you can inspect recipes, buildings, and dice without a wiki. Statistics and trophies followed, wired to the 40 achievements. Use the Codex in a live run. Use this wiki’s Items hub and Tier List Hub when you are planning between runs.

Roadmap that is not out yet

Indieformer has said GOG, Epic, iOS, and Android are on the way. They are not the current baseline. System requirements describe the Windows Steam build. Controls assume mouse or a pad on PC, including Steam Deck as a best-effort controller target.

How we will treat future patches

When a patch adds cards, we update roles on the item pages instead of pretending the August list was scripture. When a patch changes hunger math, the walkthrough and Scoring Combos move first. When a patch adds codes or multiplayer, the facts file on this site would have to change; today those facts are: released, single-player, no redeem codes.

For whether 1.0 is worth the price, read the review. For how to play the build you already own, the Guides Hub is the better click than a changelog.
